Marisa has over 25 years of investment experience and serves as Senior Investment Strategist. Her primary responsibilities include market and macroeconomic research, asset allocation and risk management. Marisa also contributes to Pugh Capital’s investment thought and team leadership. She is a member of Pugh Capital’s Executive Committee and Co-Chairs the Portfolio Management Committee. She most recently served as the Chief Investment Officer of Montgomery County Public Schools Pension System (MCPS) where she was responsible for asset allocation and portfolio risk. Additional responsibilities included implementing investment strategies, vetting managers, and oversight of the plan’s service providers. Working with the Board of Trustees, she drove the strategic planning and management of MCPS’ pension to position it for long-term success.
Prior to her role at MCPS, Marisa held roles as a research analyst (both macroeconomic and equity) and in investment consulting with demonstrated achievements at Goldman Sachs, AllianceBernstein, and Cambridge Associates. Marisa graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Economics and holds an MBA in Finance and Economics from Columbia Business School where she was a Toigo Fellow.
