Deanna Hobson

Deanna Hobson is Chief Executive Officer of Pugh Capital, where she leads the firm’s strategic vision, culture, and long-term growth. Since joining the firm in 2011, she has played a key leadership role in Pugh Capital’s evolution.  As head of business development, she guided the firm through a period of significant growth, expanding assets under management from just over $1 billion to $10 billion through strategy, strong client partnerships, and a collaborative team effort.

With 27 years of experience across institutional bond sales, debt capital markets, and global fixed income operations, Deanna brings a combination of market expertise and operating leadership. Her background spans structured finance, emerging markets, and every major sector within fixed income, giving her a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and strategic dimensions of investment management. Prior to Pugh Capital, she held leadership roles at The Capital Group Companies, UBS, and Credit Suisse.

Equally important to her is the culture behind the performance. Deanna is deeply committed to building high-performing organizations rooted in inclusion, accountability, and investment excellence.

Beyond the firm, Deanna is an active mentor, board member, and industry contributor.  She serves on the board of the Investment Diversity Advisory Council (iDAC) and the Seattle Chapter of Columbia University Alumni Association. She is a member of the National Association of Securities Professionals, 100 Women in Finance, Women Investment Professional, and Women in Institutional Investments Network.  She has also collaborated with industry groups such as the Investment Company Institute and has participated on panels speaking on topics spanning business management, leadership, and fostering inclusive corporate cultures.

Deanna holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Columbia University.
