Deanna Hobson is Chief Executive Officer of Pugh Capital, where she leads the firm’s strategic vision, culture, and long-term growth. Since joining the firm in 2011, she has played a key leadership role in Pugh Capital’s evolution. As head of business development, she guided the firm through a period of significant growth, expanding assets under management from just over $1 billion to $10 billion through strategy, strong client partnerships, and a collaborative team effort.
With 27 years of experience across institutional bond sales, debt capital markets, and global fixed income operations, Deanna brings a combination of market expertise and operating leadership. Her background spans structured finance, emerging markets, and every major sector within fixed income, giving her a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and strategic dimensions of investment management. Prior to Pugh Capital, she held leadership roles at The Capital Group Companies, UBS, and Credit Suisse.
Equally important to her is the culture behind the performance. Deanna is deeply committed to building high-performing organizations rooted in collaboration, accountability, and investment excellence.
Beyond the firm, Deanna is an active mentor, board member, and industry contributor. She serves on the board of the Seattle Chapter of Columbia University Alumni Association. She has also collaborated with industry groups such as the Investment Company Institute and has participated on panels speaking on topics spanning business management, leadership, and fostering welcoming corporate cultures.
Deanna holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Columbia University.
Jean-David joined Pugh Capital in February 2019. He leads a team of highly experienced professionals across Pugh Capital’s operations, compliance, finance, legal, technology, and human resources functions. Jean-David previously worked at Russell Investments where he held several senior leadership roles, leading a variety of global, cross-functional strategic initiatives and teams and working closely with institutional asset owners. Jean-David is a member and current chair of Pugh Capital’s Executive Management Committee where he contributes to the long-term strategic planning and management of the firm. Jean-David graduated from Duke University School of Law with a law degree and a masters in international and comparative law. He received a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and he has studied at the University of Hong Kong and the London School of Economics.
Darius is a Portfolio Manager for Pugh Capital’s Core Fixed Income strategy and has been with the firm for 12 years. He previously served as Director of Credit Research and Senior Credit Analyst covering Energy and REITs. He also served on the Executive Committee. During his tenure as Director of Credit he was responsible for managing and developing the credit analyst team. Darius is a graduate of the Leadership Tomorrow program where he received formal training in servant leadership. He currently sits on the Board of Trustees and Investment Committee for University Child Development School.
Darius has more than 25 years of work experience. Prior to joining Pugh Capital, he was a Portfolio Manager and Credit Analyst for JP Morgan, where he was responsible for managing and training the next generation of analysts. Darius was also an Associate Analyst with Moody’s Investors Service, where he was responsible for company research and credit ratings for Energy and Media industries.
Darius holds several degrees from the University of Pennsylvania: an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business, a B.S. in Economics, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology.
Ryan is a Portfolio Manager for Pugh Capital’s Core Strategic Income and has been with the firm for 10 years. He also serves as Chair of the Investment Committee. Ryan has a strong credit and absolute return background and contributes to the intellectual fabric of our investment process.
Ryan has 30 years of work experience. He joined Pugh Capital in 2014, bringing more than 20 years of experience in portfolio management, credit research, analysis, and trading. During his tenure at Pugh Capital, he has been responsible for managing and mentoring members of the credit research and portfolio management teams helping to develop the next generation of talent. He has also served as a member of the Executive Committee.
Prior to joining Pugh Capital, Ryan worked for Cardinal Point Capital as a Senior Credit Analyst, where he covered investment grade, crossover and high yield credits. He also served as Director, Credit for ORIX USA where he led a team that was responsible for the management of corporate bond, leveraged loan and structured products portfolios.
Ryan graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Business Management.
Hannah is the Head of High Yield and a Senior Portfolio Manager, at Pugh Capital, bringing over 40 years of investment experience to the firm. She oversees the high yield strategies and leads the high yield team. Hannah became a part of Pugh Capital through the acquisition of a portion of SKY Harbor Capital Management, a firm she co-founded.
At SKY Harbor Capital Management, she served as Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer, and Portfolio Manager, guiding both business and investment strategy. Prior to that she served as the Head of U.S. Fixed Income and Co-Head of U.S. High Yield at AXA Investment Managers. Earlier in her career, Hannah also co-founded Cardinal Capital Management, was co-head of High Yield at Deltec Asset Management and worked as an analyst at Kidder Peabody.
Hannah is also active in her community and serves on the Greenwich Hospital Board of Trustees and was named “International Investment Women of the Year” by Investment Week in 2018. She graduated with a B.A. from Amherst College.

Sean has over 25 years of experience in portfolio management, credit and market research, and structured product analysis, research, and trading. He is a Portfolio Manager for the Core, Intermediate and Mortgage strategies and leads our structured product research. He also is a contributor to macroeconomic research given his deep interest in monetary policy. Prior to joining Pugh Capital, Sean worked for City National Rochdale as a Portfolio Manager, where he managed the taxable short-intermediate strategy, liquidity strategies and co-managed the CNR Government Bond Fund. Before City National Rochdale, he served as Co-Fund Manager/Credit Analyst at Highmark Capital Management where he co-managed the Highmark California Tax-Free Money Market Fund and provided credit analysis on municipal issuers for fund inclusion. Sean graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville with a B.S. in Accounting & Finance (Financial Management).
Chris is a Portfolio Manager for the firm’s Long Duration product and has over 20 years of experience. Chris utilizes his understanding of our process to help drive strategic discussions and research. Chris has extensive experience in macro analysis, portfolio construction and risk analysis. Chris provides valuable research through data mining indices and market statistics that assists in shaping the portfolios and the strategies. He also frequently contributes to Pugh Capital’s macro research publications. Chris is very active in the community frequently speaking at local non-profits on topics related to financial literacy. Chris received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington.
Ricky is a Portfolio Manager for the firm’s Long Duration product and has more than 20 years of experience in investments, asset/liability modeling, and tailoring solutions for defined benefit plans. Ricky frequently contributes to Pugh Capital’s intellectual capital through his quantitative research of issuers, industries, and the markets. His understanding of Liability Driven Investments (LDI) provides a valuable lens for the portfolio management team. Prior to joining Pugh Capital, Ricky worked at Mercer Investment Consulting in the Financial Strategy Group, assisting plan sponsors in managing and implementing their assets allocations and LDI strategies in the context of their pension liabilities. At Mercer, Ricky was a member of the LDI Committee, charged with developing intellectual capital in the LDI space. Ricky graduated from Bradley University with a B.A. in Mathematics. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a CFA® charterholder.
Zach is a Portfolio Manager and Head of High Yield Trading bringing 20 years of investment experience. He became a part of Pugh Capital through the acquisition of a portion of SKY Harbor Capital Management, where he held the same roles. At Pugh Capital, Zach oversees high yield trading and provides analytical coverage of the Financial Services, Insurance, Real Estate and Energy industries. Zach previously worked as a Senior Loan Trader at Wells Capital Management. He graduated with a B.A. from the University of Maine.
Greg is a Portfolio Manager for the Core Strategic Income and Intermediate strategies at Pugh Capital Management, where he has worked for over 10 years. In his role, he is responsible for portfolio construction, risk management, and macro analysis. Greg also contributes to the firm’s economic research, offering insights on market trends and macro data that support investment decisions.
He began his career at Pugh Capital as a structured products analyst and now serves as co-lead for the structured product sectors. Over the years, he has led analysis, trading, and strategy development across mortgage-backed, asset-backed, and commercial mortgage-backed securities.
Beyond his investment responsibilities, Greg chairs Pugh Capital’s Corporate Contributions Committee, helping the firm align its community engagement with its values. He holds a Master of Science in Finance from Seattle University and a B.A. in Economics and Psychology from Claremont McKenna College. Greg also serves on the Investment Committee for the Seattle Foundation and the Finance Committee at Epiphany School and is a graduate of the Leadership Tomorrow program
Yuyan has over 25 years of experience and is the Director of Credit Research. Yuyan is responsible for managing and cultivating Pugh Capital’s credit research resources and talent. She has held a variety of positions during her more than 15-year tenure at Pugh Capital, including Portfolio Manager, Credit Analyst, Research Analyst and Chief Compliance Officer. As a part of her current responsibilities, she provides credit coverage for Telecommunication, Cable & Media and Retailers & Supermarkets. Yuyan also conducts research and analysis supporting macro trends, asset allocation and risk management. Yuyan has a strong quantitative background. She is a member of the Portfolio Management, Credit and Investment Committees. Prior to joining Pugh Capital, Yuyan worked for Aon Investment Consulting where her responsibilities included performance attribution, investment manager analysis, and asset allocation. Earlier in her career, where she assisted the controller for a manufacturing company. She is a past graduate of Leadership Tomorrow. Yuyan received her M.B.A. from Willamette University and her B.S. in Engineering from Shanghai University of Engineering Science.
Marcelo joined Pugh Capital in 2022. He most recently was a Senior Credit Analyst at Public Trust Advisors in Denver where he covered investment grade issuers in the consumer staples, consumer discretionary and health care industries. He was also the secondary analyst covering asset-backed securities and asset backed commercial paper. He previously worked as a credit analyst at Great-West Financial Life where he covered REITs, Utilities, and Industrials. He also held financial analyst roles at CenturyLink and S&P. Marcelo holds a B.S. in Finance from Metropolitan State University of Denver and is a Master’s in Finance and Risk Management candidate. Marcelo is a CFA® charterholder.
Jane is a High Yield Analyst with 19 years of experience. Jane became a part of Pugh Capital through the acquisition of a portion of SKY Harbor Capital Management, where she served as an Analyst, focusing on the Automotive and Service industries. Her previous roles included as Vice President of Wealth Management Internal Audit at JPMorgan Chase and Portfolio Management Assistant Associate at BlackRock. Jane holds a B.S. in Integrated Business and Engineering from Lehigh University.
Cynthia has over 35 years of experience, including 17 years as a Senior Director & Managing Director at TIAA responsible for making and overseeing fixed income investments such as investment grade bonds, high yield bonds, leveraged loans and private assets. Prior to TIAA, Cynthia worked in investment banking in New York and London for Chase Securities and Citibank, respectively. Most recently, as a member of the finance faculty, she taught undergraduate and graduate finance courses at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Cynthia serves on the board of several non-profit organizations that focus on some of her passions including theater and education. Cynthia is a CFA® charterholder, holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and has a BBA in finance from Howard University, where she graduated with honors.
Andrew is a High Yield Analyst with 19 years of experience. He became a part of Pugh Capital through the acquisition of a portion of SKY Harbor Capital Management, where he was an Analyst. Andrew currently covers the Healthcare and Basic Materials industries. At SKY Harbor he also led back-office and fund operations. Andrew’s previous experience includes positions at Citco Fund Services and American International Group (AIG). He holds a B.S. from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
Felix is a High Yield Analyst with 3 years of investment experience. He became a part of Pugh Capital through the acquisition of a portion of SKY Harbor Capital Management, where he worked as an Analyst. Felix provides analytical coverage of the Capital Goods industry and is also a high yield trader. Felix began his career as an intern at Sky Harbor. Felix earned his B.S. from Boise State University.
Malachi joined Pugh Capital in 2014 while pursuing a master’s degree in Computational Finance and Risk Management at the University of Washington. His responsibilities include macro automation, quantitative analysis and credit research for the Technology, Food & Beverage, Restaurant, Environmental, and Tobacco industries. In his role, Malachi also provides support to investment team in the areas of asset allocation, risk management and credit analysis, where he is able to leverage his expertise in quantitative analysis. Malachi completed his M.S. in Computational Finance and Risk Management from the University of Washington in March 2016. He earned his B.S. in Mathematics from Morehouse College.
Isha is a Senior Credit Analyst and has over 15 years of experience. She has a diverse and deep credit background having worked on the credit rating agency side and in investment management. As a part of her current responsibilities, she provides credit coverage for the Utilities and Select Industrials industries. She is also a member of the Credit and Investment Committees.
Isha worked as an Associate Director at S&P Global Ratings in New York where she provided credit analysis and rating assignments for the Defense Industry evaluating a portfolio of investment and non-investment grade companies. Additionally, she held credit and investment roles at a bank and an insurance company. She began her career at S&P Global in India in 2008 and covered metals and mining, pipes and hotels. Prior to joining Pugh Capital, Isha worked as a Senior Financial Analyst for Amazon.com Services Inc. where she was responsible for building the financial structure and credit policy for Amazon’s Business lending product. Isha received her post-graduation in Finance from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) and her Bachelor of Economics from Delhi University in India.
Kristen has over 20 years of experience in client services and investment operations. She became a part of Pugh Capital through the acquisition of a portion of SKY Harbor Capital Management, where she was the Head of Client Service. Kristen previously worked at Legg Mason and Citi Asset Management. Kristen earned her B.S. from University of Connecticut.
Daniel has over 15 years of experience and is responsible for research coverage of the Railroad, Auto, Capital Goods, Aerospace and Defense, and Basics Industries. In addition to his sector responsibilities, Daniel executes broad investment projects related to portfolio research, market analytics, and relative value analysis. He also has primary responsibility for corporate actions for the credits in the portfolios. Daniel holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Washington. Daniel is a CFA® charterholder.
Chitra is a Senior High Yield Analyst with 30 years of investment experience. Chitra became a part of Pugh Capital through the acquisition of a portion of SKY Harbor Capital Management, where she was a Senior Analyst. Chitra covers the Technology, Media and Telecommunications industries. She previously worked at Cardinal Capital Management and J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Chitra earned her BCom at the University of Pune, a FCA from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and an MBA from New York University.
Phil joined Pugh Capital in 2021 as an Operations Analyst. His core responsibilities include working with custodians on trade processing and settlement and account reconciliation. In addition, he is responsible for performance and client reporting. He also is responsible for optimizing current workflows and creating custom reports for portfolio managers and operations leadership. He is an active member of the firm’s Corporate Contributions Committee assisting in the firm’s non-profit initiatives.
Phil began his career in investment operations at Strategic Income Management, LLC where he supported fund inquiries from portfolio managers, analysts, compliance, and clients. He earned a B.A. in Economics from Western Washington University.
Lien Chau joined Pugh Capital as a Fixed Income Analyst in March 2025. Lien’s responsibilities include credit research, data analysis, and administrative support for the investment and credit committees. Lien completed her M.S. degree in Finance and MBA certificate from Seattle University.
Jay joined Pugh Capital in September 2025 and is responsible for leading Pugh’s relationship management, consultant relations, and business development efforts. He is a seasoned investment executive with over 35 years of experience driving strategic growth, client engagement, and market expansion across North America’s institutional investment landscape. Prior to joining Pugh Capital, he was a Senior Director of Institutional Client Relations at TD Epoch Investment Partners, where he led business development efforts across the western United States, cultivating relationships with public and corporate pension plans, endowments, foundations, and multi-family offices. Jay is a board member for the Association of Investment and Sales Executives (AIMSE), is actively involved in industry organizations that promote financial literacy among our youth and mentorship programs that improve access to the investment industry. Jay holds the CFA designation.
Marcie has over 15 years of experience in client and consultant relationship management and business development in the financial services industry. As a senior member of the marketing and client service team she has lead responsibility on managing select relationships with Pugh Capital’s clients and leads Pugh Capital’s consultant relationship management and strategy. In addition, she assists the Executive Management Committee on the firm’s initiatives. She is also responsible for Pugh Capital’s internship program. She joined Pugh Capital in 2014 and has spent the last 10 years helping to grow the organization’s assets under management. She is also an active member of the AIMSE organization. Prior to joining Pugh Capital, Marcie held positions in institutional marketing at Edge Asset Management and Russell Investments. Marcie graduated from University of Puget Sound with a B.A. in Business Leadership and a concentration in International Finance.
Alex has over 8 years of experience in the investment management industry. In his role, Alex is responsible for managing relationships with the firm’s strategic stakeholders including institutional clients, consultants and prospects. Alex partners with them to ensure their needs are understood, long-term goals are supported, and trust is consistently earned.
In his role, Alex manages complex investment relationships, delivering tailored insights and translating portfolio strategy into meaningful client outcomes. He collaborates across investment, operations, and compliance teams to provide clear updates, anticipate evolving needs, and maintain alignment with each client’s objectives. He also assists the firm in product development and strategy.
Beyond client service, Alex is known for his analytical expertise and plays a key role in driving innovation at the firm. He has contributed to cross-functional initiatives focused on enhancing data integration, evaluating new systems, and exploring thoughtful applications of AI, resulting in measurable improvements in data architecture and business intelligence. His analytical mindset and collaborative approach foster transparency and trust across stakeholders.
Alex is an active member of Association of Investment Management Sales Executives (AIMSE) and the National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP).
Alex holds a Master of Science in Business Analytics from Seattle University, where he served as a Portfolio Manager for the Redhawk Fund and currently sits on the Albers School of Business Dean’s Advisory Board. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from California Lutheran University.
Leo has more than 30 years of experience and has been with Pugh Capital since 2013. She is an integral part of the firm’s marketing team. Her primary responsibilities include client reporting, designing and maintaining the firm’s marketing collateral, and configuring systems for efficiency and effectiveness. Leo has a leadership role in a number of the firm’s key projects that deliver timely and accurate data to internal and external constituents. As a member of the firm’s Business Continuity Committee, she provides support to several of the firm’s IT and Cybersecurity related initiatives and serves as a technical manager for numerous essential office applications.
She is passionate about using technology and automation in bringing quality service to the firm’s clients and improving efficiencies in the firm’s processes. Prior to Pugh Capital, Leo worked for the Pacific Financial Group and Rigel Capital where she held roles in client service, operations, and systems integration.
Leo embraces the firm’s commitment in serving the community. She volunteers at Neighbor to Neighbor, a non-profit that aims to provide healthy food that accommodates cultural, religious, personal, and dietary preferences and at Hugh Doyle Senior Center, an organization providing seniors with social, educational, and recreational activities.
Michael supports client service and operations teams through reporting execution, data management, and internal process support. He is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely client, consultant, and internal reports while coordinating across marketing, operations, and compliance to meet ongoing and ad‑hoc needs. In addition, he contributes to process improvements and automation initiatives that enhance efficiency and scalability across teams.
Michael earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington, where he studied Finance and Marketing and completed the Jack and Ann Rhodes Professional Sales Program. He also holds a Master of Science in Business Analytics from Seattle University.
Noah joined Pugh Capital in 2024 as a Marketing and Business Coordinator and is a member of the Marketing and Client Service team. He manages external communications, supports client and consultant relationships, and oversees the firm’s relationship management system to enhance engagement and efficiency. Noah also provides operational support through coordinating technology systems, employee onboarding, and support with event logistics, contributing to the firm’s operational excellence.
Prior to joining Pugh Capital, Noah worked as a Brand Marketing Specialist at Meyer, where he developed expertise in business analytics, operations, and advertising. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Information Systems and Marketing from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.
Greg joined the firm in July 2025 as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer. He is an accomplished regulatory compliance risk manager with over 19 years of experience in compliance and 25 years in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Pugh Capital, he was a Senior Compliance Manager for Russell Investments, where he was responsible for managing compliance programs for institutional client separate accounts and private funds in the United States, Canada, the Cayman Islands, and Australia. Greg also shares Pugh Capital’s commitment to community service and is currently serving as a board director for YouthCare.
Greg attained a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.
Jane is responsible for oversight of the firm’s investment operations functions. She has over 30 years of experience in investment compliance, operations, accounting and client service. Jane has been with the firm since 2012. Prior to joining Pugh Capital, Jane was the Director of Operations and a Partner at Hoover Investment Management where she was responsible for the firm’s operations program and assisted in the compliance area. Jane received her M.B.A. from Boston University and her B.A. in Economics and French from St. Olaf College.
Josh is responsible for supporting the investment operations at the firm. He has 20 years of experience in operations across all asset classes. Josh recently joined the firm in April 2026. Prior to joining the team at Pugh Capital, Josh was a Sr. Treasury Manager at Microsoft, where he was responsible for the operations workflows of fixed income, FX, strategic equities, and derivatives. Josh was born and raised in Washington State and has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Washington.
Saya joined Pugh Capital in 2023 as Senior Accountant and has over 5 years of experience in accounting. She reports to Pugh Capital’s Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. Saya’s primary areas of responsibility include tax, accounting, financial analysis, employee benefits, corporate maintenance, and other projects. Prior to joining Pugh Capital, Saya worked as an accountant for several organizations in the Houston area. Saya graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Economics and is currently pursuing her CPA.
Paul is a Compliance Associate with 30 years of legal and regulatory compliance experience. He became a part of Pugh Capital through the acquisition of a portion of SKY Harbor Capital Management, where he held the same position. At SKY Harbor, Paul assisted the Chief Compliance Officer with regulatory reporting requirements and compliance matters. He previously worked at Carter, Ledyard & Millburn. Paul received his B.A. from University of Richmond and his J.D. from Pace University.
Ellen is an Operations Specialist with 30 years of experience. She became a part of Pugh Capital through the acquisition of a portion of SKY Harbor Capital Management, where she held the same title. At SKY Harbor, Ellen was responsible for corporate actions and event monitoring, processing and data capture, and trade support. She previously worked at AXA Investment Managers and Cardinal Capital Management.
Sandra is a Finance Comptroller with more than 30 years of experience in accounting and financial controls. She became a part of Pugh Capital through the acquisition of a portion of SKY Harbor Capital Management, where she held the same title. At SKY Harbor, Sandra was responsible for corporate accounting, recording keeping and related finance reporting. She previously worked at Capricorn Management, LLC and Penn Central Corporation. Sandra earned her B.A. from West Chester University and her MBA from Pace University.
Yuerong joined Pugh Capital in January 2026 as a Legal & Compliance Analyst. Yuerong’s primary responsibilities include supporting the firm’s core business functions across legal, compliance, and corporate governance. Prior to joining Pugh Capital, Yuerong earned her Master of Laws from the University of Washington. She also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and B.A. in Business English from the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.
